We are four friends who share a love for four part harmony. We're based in the gorgeous city of Plymouth in Devon. We sing at local events, in competitions around the UK and as far afield as Spain.
We have a passion for singing with an even bigger passion for our friendship which we have been told, shines through in our performance.
Four-part harmony is a traditional system of organising chords for 4 voices: soprano, alto, tenor and bass (known together as SATB).
It means we don't need expensive equipment such as microphones or amplifiers, we can sing pretty much anywhere where there's an audience willing to stop and listen.
Lindsay sings the melody (known as 'the lead). The other parts tune their harmony notes to the lead. In short, she's the diva.
Carmen sings baritone. The baritone note can either sit between the bass and the lead notes or go above the lead at times. A good baritone will be aware of the difference, as different vocal qualities are required to balance the part against the others. Carmen has that ability in bucket loads!
Jan sings bass. It's her job to create a stable foundation in the quartet and she does that in more ways than one! If galaxy chocolate could sing, it would sound like Jan.
Stephanie sings the tenor part. This is the highest voice part in the quartet. Stephanie's voice is quite literally like sprinkling fairy dust over the top of our sound.
We are available for weddings, anniversaries, birthdays and more.
